The Two Harbors Light is the oldest operating lighthouse in the state of Minnesota. The lighthouse is located in the city of Two Harbors, overlooking Lake Superior's Agate Bay.

35 years ago today, the freighter S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald left Superior, Wisconsin, headed for Detroit with 26,000 tons of taconite when it encountered a November gale on Lake Superior. Unable to reach shelter, the ship went down — taking with it a crew of 29 men.

To be a good human being is to have a amiable of openness to the mankind, an ability to trust aleatory things beyond your own control, that can lead you to be shattered in very outermost circumstances as which you were not to blame. That says something uncommonly weighty with the prerequisite of the ethical passion: that it is based on a conviction in the unpredictable and on a willingness to be exposed; it's based on being more like a plant than like a treasure, something fairly feeble, but whose very item attractiveness is inseparable from that fragility.
