A long exposure photo taken in Lake Elmo, MN on Christmas Eve truly shows the beautiful side of the rather long snowstorm that greeted Minnesotans over the Christmas holiday.

how do you get your tripod so steady to get such a clear image?
I've had problems keeping the tripod still. so my images turn out as if I had been holding the camera.

While this long exposure isn't mine I've had decent luck with my rather sub-standard tripod. If it is an issue I'd suggest either a remote shutter release, using the timer function on your camera to reduce vibration from pressing the shutter button or a sturdier tripod.

Thank you for the advice Sornie.
I'll have to look into getting myself one of those nice remote shutter releases. Do they plug into most cameras? As of right now I have a canon rebel t2.

If my memory is good, some are wired and some are wireless.
