The photographer says: I wasn't expecting that! We'd spent almost all of the previous five hours in the [London Olympic] stadium trying to work out where the [Olympic] torch was and how it was going to be positioned. None of those around me worked it out beforehand. Well done Danny Boyle, great surprise. And a petal for each nation [competing in the London 2012 Olympic games] was a nice touch by the designer, Thomas Heatherwick.
