Following a freak early May snowstorm across southeastern Minnesota, thousands awoke to find themselves without electricity and see trees bent close to breaking or already snapped and on the ground. Owatonna reported a whopping 13" of heavy and wet snow which resulted in closed schools in that corner of Minnesota.

Downtown Rochester, MN, shown here at night, looks particularly classy and almost resembles a small town. Particularly nice is the neon of the Kahler Hotel sign. It's one of the sort of landmarks I remember from growing up in that area of Minnesota.

The first real snow of the season on the northern tip of Lake Zumbro in Rochester, MN. It's not much snow but it does count. Now if it could just melt and we could return to balmy 50 degree days all would be right with the world.
